چکیده
Plant-based fertilizers, such as liquid plant extracts, contribute to the cultivation of vegetables, particularly in organic production. The objective this study was determine if aqueous nettle extract could be successfully used a fertilizer, applied on soil and foliarly, green bean production under field conditions. hypothesis that it replace mineral fertilizers integrated into sustainable agriculture. experiment conducted at two climatically pedologically different locations (Zadar Pore?) throughout growing seasons (spring autumn). Two types extracts were used: short-term (SE) prepared by extraction wild stinging (183 g 10 L?1 water) water for 24 h, while long-term (LE) same ratio with 14 days. Both diluted 1:3 (extract:water) before use. SE LE, pouring onto soil. abovementioned treatments compared fertilization urea (U) control (no (C)). Foliar proved almost efficient poured soil, showing positive effect vegetative parameters. Furthermore, showed iron accumulation leaves.

Mineral Properties and Dietary Value of Raw and Processed Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica L.)
Stinging nettle (Urtica dioica L.) has a long history of usage and is currently receiving attention as a source of fiber and alternative medicine. In many cultures, nettle is also eaten as a leafy vegetable. In this study, we focused on nettle yield (edible portion) and processing effects on nutritive and dietary properties. Actively growing shoots were harvested from field plots and leaves sep...
متن کاملEffects of Various Doses of Selenite on Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica L.)
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of selenium (Se) on the growth, accumulation and possible mechanisms of Se transport in certain parts (roots, leaves, stamp and apex) of nettle (Urtica dioica L.) plants. Se was supplemented by one-shot and two repeated doses to the soil (2.0 and 4.0 mg Se per kg of substrate). Selenium content in roots increased linearly with dose and was si...

OBJECTIVE Excess dietary lipids result in the accumulation of lipid metabolites including ceramides that can attenuate insulin signaling. There is evidence that a botanical extract of Urtica dioica L. (stinging nettle) improves insulin action, yet the precise mechanism(s) are not known. Hence, we examined the effects of Urtica dioica L. (UT) on adipocytes. RESEARCH DESIGN We investigated the ...
متن کاملZn content in stinging nettle (Urtica dioica L.) as affected by soil characteristics: spatial distribution and statistics
Abstract Understanding metal plant availability as influenced by soil conditions is of key importance for phytoremediation research and for quantification of environmental risk assessment in polluted areas. Urtica dioica L. was chosen as study object as it is omnipresent in the temperate climate region and in the area under study in particular. The study area stretched over 630 km2 in Flanders,...

Urtica dioica (stinging nettle), is a perennial plant belonging to the family of Urticaceae, genus Urtica. Despite the use of nettle in folk veterinary medicine is well documented, U. dioica is today an underestimated and frequently neglected plant, considered by the contemporary agriculture as a weed to be eliminated. This mini review focus on very recent studies on dietary administration of U...
